Privacy Policy — Matteo Cortese

How this website handles personal data, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Last updated: May 21, 2026.

1. Data controller

The data controller for matteocortese.com (the “Site”) is Matteo Cortese. For any data-related request you can contact: m.cortese@hotmail.com.

2. What data we process

The Site is a personal portfolio. Browsing does not require an account and no forms collect personal data from visitors. We process only the minimum data needed to deliver the Site.

  • Access logs — when you load a page, our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) records technical data such as IP address, user agent, request path and timestamp. These logs are used for security and reliability and are retained for a short period.
  • Analytics — we use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service that does not set tracking cookies and does not build cross-site profiles. It aggregates anonymous page-view counts.
  • CMS session — when the site owner signs into the content management system (Keystatic), an authentication cookie is set strictly for that session. Visitors never receive this cookie.

3. Legal basis

Processing is based on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) for the technical operation, security and basic audience measurement of the Site. No data is processed for profiling or advertising.

4. Third parties

The following processors handle data on our behalf:

  • Vercel Inc. — hosting and analytics. Privacy notice.
  • GitHub, Inc. — source code hosting and OAuth for the CMS (only the site owner interacts with it). Privacy notice.

Fonts are served from this domain. No requests are made to Google Fonts or other external font CDNs.

5. Retention

Access logs are retained by the hosting provider for the period needed to detect abuse and ensure reliability (typically up to 30 days). Analytics data is aggregated and not tied to identifiable users.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact m.cortese@hotmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the Site or applicable law. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
